The residents & investors of Millennium city Gurgaon had been always complaining about poor infrastructure in Gurgaon.

In a developing township the growth rate of all around happenings is at such a fast speed that it takes time to, arrest the problems which could not be envisaged at the initial stages but they can be only figured out after actual happening

With the recent development in district administration the scenario seems to be on change with positive inputs.

Now, since Gurgaon has a team having a blend of efficient administrative heads who have in front them, examined and analyzed status of infrastructure related problems, & moreover, it is felt that Administrative nucleus is determined to take positive steps to eradicate the problems with long term solutions.

The positive steps have already been initiated in priority fields including:

  • Power shortage in Gurgaon
  • Water Shortage in Gurgaon
  • Roads & Traffics Reforms
  • Law & order in Gurgaon

From reliable sources it is understood that the District Head of Gurgaon has said that “As improving infrastructure like road network, power & water supply in Gurgaon is a matter of priority, therefore, the laxity on the part of officers will not be tolerated”.

With stable Government in the centre and an effective, efficient & determined local administration ,Gurgaon would be heading towards the path of glory.

Gurgaon is a city that is rapidly moving towards Globalized economy, but it the city requires, an effective planning for improvement in basic infrastructure to truly transform into be “world-class city” in coming years. An effective Transport system is the base for any infrastructure development.

Although eight lane toll expressway between Gurgaon and New Delhi, that provides non-stop connectivity to the I.G.I and the Domestic Airport and to Dhaulakuan in Delhi over a distance of 28 kilometers (18 miles), and includes 7 flyovers and 5 underpasses along the stretch, has made a remarkable comfort level to the commuters, still for main city of Gurgaon , a well planned efficient surface transport planning seems to be the basic need of the day.

While the road layout in the city is quite well-planned, but a drives to improve the condition of roads is very badly required.

Besides roads, the main problem of the city is its virtually non-existent city public transport. A handful of local buses plying on a few routes & besides cycle rickshaw the only other form of public transport is shared auto- rickshaw which are generally overcrowded.

Mainly Taxi service in Gurgaon is limited to Airport/Railway Station dropping/ picking. Besides taxis for the use of the ever growing call center and information technology industry. Gurgaon currently has 5 types of taxis. Normal Black top yellows taxis, auto rickshaw(the cheapest form of taxis in Gurgaon), tourist taxis, radio taxis and white taxis.

Generally, people in Gurgaon prefer cars to two-wheelers because of the dusty nature of the region, extreme weather condition, and frequent two-wheeler accidents. Most of the people in new township, own cars as the cream of the delhites have moved to Gurgaon. But an average white collar job person is desperately looking forward to improved means of transport system.

There seems to be only ray of hope when “Delhi Metro Rail Corporation” starts its operation to Gurgaon as expected by January 2010.

Gurgaon Progress/ Prosperity vs Common Man (The CM)

Someone has to monitor the progress/ growth of this New Township of Gurgaon in more balanced & Planned manner having Prime focus on the following:

Housing : While Prominent Builders are competing with each other in offering Luxurious Villas & Apartments with a price tag ranging 50 lacs to 2.5 crores and above leaving no scope for a common man to even own a simple shelter, as the uncontrolled land prices are much beyond his means.

Education: The most modern education systems are being introduced in best of institutes finding their place in Gurgaon, making Education a luring business but what is in store for a child who is studious but does not have resources.

Health care :With appearance of well known expensive Hospitals & Medicity, remarkable progress is noticed , awaiting the Financial boom from “Medical Tourism”. Yet ,hundreds of poor patients are left to their fate for the want of resources.

Local commuting/Transport: Speeding Swanky Cars reflect of an affluent culture prevailing all around, forgetting the basic need of a humble commuter who is the one of the pillars of today’s Glittering Gurgaon.

Time is warning us that we are not far away from the crucial stage of “Haves & Have-nots” ……………… which can be disastrous for the society.
